Some times fibroids dissolve by themselves without any treatment. These can be formed any where in uterus. Some form out side endometrium and some form inside endometrium.

Reasons for fibroids: Fibroids are formed because of over production of Estrogen hormone. These are grown during pregnancy because estrogen levels are high at that time. Fibroids dissolve during menopause because estrogen levels are reduced. If the patient is taking hormone treatment, fibroids may take long time to dissolve.

Sometimes these are diagnosed accidentally in tests done for other reasons. One should be aware of the problems that arise from fibroids and take necessary treatment for curing them.
Menstrual problems: Fibroids may not cause any problem to menstrual cycle but heavy bleeding can be seen in some patients. Pain may also be experienced during menstrual period. This leads to anemia if the iron percentage in blood is reduced. Iron supplements should be taken to cure anemia.
Severe pain: If the size of the fibroid is more patient may feel inconvenience in abdomen. Severe pain can also be experience. Back pain is also seen because of presence of fibroids in uterus.
Problems in urination: Some times these fibroids cause pressure on urinary bladder that leads to frequent urination. Constipation problems may also arise in some patients.
Abortions or infertility: When fibroids grow in uterus, these block fallopian tubes and prevent pregnancy. Very rarely these may also cause abortions.
Problems during pregnancy: There may not be many problems if one or two fibroids are present in uterus during pregnancy. Pain will be present because of the growing size of fibroids. Caesarian section delivery may become necessary in some patients and immature deliveries may also be possible.
Doctors identify fibroids through ultrasound test and some other test. When there are no symptoms, no treatment is necessary to cure them. Most of the women do not show interest unless problem with fibroids are more because these dissolve with the onset of menopause. If severity is more then necessary tests should be done to identity the reason for their growth and treatment should be given accordingly.
